If you live in Fort Collins or Colorado at that matter you want to check out Bohemian Nights, a gift offered by Colorado Billionaire Pat Stryker who is known for her donations to charitable organizations around Colorado and one of the most powerful and influential people in the state.
For the past 3 years I’ve had the opportunity to support the Fort Collins community and volunteer at the past 3 Bohemian Nights West/Fest events.
Here’s the event details from the official Bohemian Nights website:
Going into its seventh year, Bohemian Nights 2011 will feature nearly 80 of Colorado’s finest bands performing on six music stages throughout this FREE, three-day, outdoor music event.
Produced in collaboration with the Fort Collins Downtown Business Association as part of this years’ 23rd annual NewWestFest celebration, the Bohemian Nights music program brings the world of music to Fort Collins and the best of Colorado music to the world. Running August 12-14, 2011 in historic old town Fort Collins, Bohemian Nights seeks to share the incredible and diverse talent of Colorado musicians. Anchoring each day’s packed lineup of Colorado’s best musicians are National headliner acts ~true fans who thrive on music diversity will not be disappointed!
Kicking off the weekend and starting just before 6pm on Friday August 12, Bohemian Nights will host three bands: first, the 2011 International Blues Competition winner, Colorado’s very own, The Lionel Young Band; followed by the alt-rock, iconic, Colorado band, Cracker; and culminating in the cool blues, hip hop and roots sounds of the fabulous G. Love & Special Sauce.
On Saturday August 13, following a day of Colorado’s best artists starting at 11:00 AM and ending at 10:00 PM, the National headliner combines two, legendary performers into one of the most exciting and celebrated recording/touring acts to come out of music in recent years. Husband and wife team Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, combine their incredible talents and will wow audiences as the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
On Sunday, August 14, performances begin around noon and culminate at 7:00 PM. Austin Texas’ most famous Texas swing group and nine time Grammy award winners, Asleep at the Wheel will close out the weekend of performances.
Bohemian Nights offers music for every taste ~ come and listen to your favorite Colorado artist and enjoy the fun of catching new bands you never knew you would love!
